Volunteer

Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks.

There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping the Trussell Foodbank network get emergency food to people in crisis.

We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.

Our foodbank sessions

We run three foodbank sessions a week, which provide food to over 15,000 people in crisis every year. We need volunteers who will be able to commit to regular volunteering at these sessions:

Tuesday 1.30-4.30pm, St Clement’s Church, Ashton Old Rd, Openshaw, M11 1HF

Thursday 9.30-1pm, Harpurhey Neighbourhood Project, Carisbrook St, Harpurhey, M9 5UX

Friday 9.30 -1pm, Brunswick Parish Church, Brunswick St, M13 9SX

Interested in volunteering?

If you are interested in volunteering, please take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions if you want to make sure Manchester Central Foodbank is right for you.

If you would like to be involved with volunteering for us, please have a look through the volunteering roles we have available and read the volunteer role descriptions before you apply.

If you aren’t able volunteer in a foodbank session, we do also have some opportunities for you to get involved from home, in the evenings or at the weekend, which tend to be more ad-hoc. These may be donation drives, social media, specific projects and admin roles.

If you are interested in volunteering with us, please complete our volunteer application form: Volunteering application form

If you have further queries contact Jan, our Volunteering Coordinator, on [email protected].

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Manchester Central Foodbank!
